Summary ø The Technology Working Group consists of members dedicated to continually advancing GridWise technology by creating and maintaining a visionary roadmap, validated with industry input, that identifies the frontiers of technology. Its goal is to spotlight state-of-the-art technology and accelerate innovation by identifying opportunities for collaborative research and development activities with industry and government.
Charter ø Identify, Characterize and Fill Technology Gaps :
- Continually advance the technology frontier by creating and maintaining a visionary technology roadmap and R&D plan.
- Validate the relevance and value of the advancing technology by providing ongoing input from broad industry and stakeholder groups.
- Accelerate innovation by jointly funding pre-competitive technology R&D.
- Spotlight state-of-the-art technology by highlighting emerging GridWise and GridWorks technologies and solutions.
Activities ø The Technology Working Group will:
- Develop and periodically renew an Alliance technology roadmap, including activities beyond scope of DOE program.
- Provide input to DOE roadmap activities and encourage participation in them by all members.
- Develop forums or mechanisms (website, awards) for members to identify state-of-the-art and offer their technologies and solutions as examples.
- Work with the Business Solutions Working Group to develop forums encouraging members to develop team proposals responding to technology RFPs from DOE and others.
- Work with the Outreach Working Group to:
- Publicize state-of-the-art by highlighting member's technologies and solutions.
- Publicize the Alliance technology roadmap.
- Publicize opportunities for membership to participate by responding to DOE technology development RFPs.
