Summary ø The Outreach Working Group consists of members and Alliance staff whose mission is to advance the national agenda by enriching and refining the GridWise vision, scope, and message. They will implement an outreach strategy to broaden the impact and raise the visibility of the GridWise Alliance and the message, and grow and strengthen the Alliance by recruiting new members and enhancing value and opportunity for existing members.

Mature the Charter of GridWise
- Grow and strengthen the GridWise Alliance by recruiting new members and enhancing value and opportunity for existing members.
- Enrich and refine the GridWise vision, scope, and message by a process of continual renewal and enhancement.
- Develop a successful branding strategy by creating a common identity for projects, programs, and products.
- Validate the accuracy and impact of the message by continuing broad stakeholder engagement.
Implement a GridWise Outreach Strategy
- Create and implement a comprehensive communication plan to maximize impact and relevance.
- Conduct regional forums to address unique local and regional issues.
- Develop linkages with other industry alliances and federal programs to ensure relevance.
- Broaden impact and raise visibility by hosting periodic conferences, workshops and events.
Advance a National GridWise Agenda
- Focus research on high-value targets by providing advice and guidance on DOE research programs.
- Encourage broad federal agency support and involvement to leverage related funding.
- Engage key national research organizations to broaden support from universities and other laboratories.
- Involve state and local energy organizations to align related programs and enhance small business involvement.
Activities ø The Outreach Working Group will:
- Develop recruitment strategies and materials.
- Identify and recruit new members.
- Develop and continually refine the vision, scope and key messages articulating GridWise (in collaboration with DOE).
- Co-sponsor conferences and workshops on GridWise.
- Working with DOE to create a common identity for projects, programs, and products.
- Provide feedback on value of messaging and branding.
- Develop a comprehensive communication plan for the Alliance.
- Conduct regional forums on GridWise.
- Engage other industry alliances and federal programs as allies and recruits them as Alliance members.
- Engage other federal agencies on GridWise vision.
- Engage universities on GridWise vision and identify potential allies.
- Identify and engage interested state and local organizations.
- Utilize the Technology Working Group to advise and guide DOE's research agenda.
- In collaboration with the Business Solutions Working Group , Alliance members will :
- Identify potential new members and making initial contacts.
- Leverage their association with GridWise brand as appropriate.
- Provide feedback on messaging and branding.
