Membership in the GridWiseŞ Alliance is open to any eligible company upon application to the Executive Committee of the Corporation.

Eligibility: GridWiseŞ membership is open to any public or private entity that provides goods, services and/or support in the areas of communication, control, and information technologies for enhancing functionality within the U.S. electric system and electricity markets including, but not limited to, the United States Department of Energy (DOE), National labs, State energy agencies, Utilities, Energy Service Providers, Equipment manufacturers, Transmission operators, information technology companies, non-profits and others.

The GridWise Alliance has two classes of membership. They are as follows:

1. Full Member: Full Membership is open to any business entity or other commercial entity that supports the vision, mission and activities of the Corporation. Full Members have the right to hold a board seat, nominate and vote for Board candidates, join committees, and participate fully in Corporation activities.

2. Affiliate Member: Affiliate Membership is available to energy industry stakeholders such as governmental entities, non-profit corporations or associations and individuals that support the vision and mission of the Corporation. Affiliate Members can participate in all activities but will have restricted rights with respect to nominating and voting for Board seats and participating on the Executive Committee.
